This web page was started by professionals and students in the field of psychology.
Rachel Casas, PhD, was the chair of the web site committee. Dr. Casas is an Assistant Professor in the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at California Lutheran University. Her research interests focus broadly on the cultural contributions to cognition and neurobehavioral outcomes. In addition to her research, Dr. Casas provides clinical neuropsychological services to patients with various types of brain injury. While in graduate school, Dr. Casas was elected to the three-year Chair cycle of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS), the largest organization of graduate students in psychology worldwide. She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Psychological Association (APA) and as a liaison to various other organizations in professional psychology, such as the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
Micah Brosbe, committee member, completed his Clinical Psychology PhD training at Nova Southeastern University and is presently on internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Timothy Shea, Psy.D., committee member, is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He provides neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation services in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. His research interests include investigating cognitive changes following neurologic injury and studying the impact of polypharmacy following neurologic injury.
Kara Massie, M.A., M.S., committee member, will complete her PhD at Suffolk University in the fall of 2013 She completed her pre-doctoral internship with the Butler University Consortium and will be a postdoctoral fellow at Roger Williams University for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Nick Joyce, committee member, competed his Counseling Psychology PhD coursework at the University of Akron and is presently a pre-doctoral intern at the University of Michigan.
Sharon Berry, Ph.D., was a consultant for the committee. Dr. Berry has been involved in professional training in psychology for several decades.
Mike C. Parent, Ph.D., was a consultant for the committee and the impetus behind the working group and building this site. He completed his Counseling Psychology Ph.D. coursework at the University of Florida and clinical internship at the University of Akron Counseling Center, and is now an assistant professor of psychology at Texas Tech University.
